The Final Countdown

Well it's the final countdown. It's just days before Christmas, a magical time of the year and what am i doing?? Getting sick. That's right I am sick. I took a road trip last week to see family and on the way back I had a car accident and got really shook up. It was just bad freak accident of a thing but it was enough to keep me from driving for much longer that day. I should have been home by Tues but I got home yesterday. But onto happier thoughts.


I still need to buy a few more things, wrap them and put them under the tree, although I'm thinking that I may go over to a friends house and wrap them there that way I don't have to worry about her coming in or getting up while I'm in the living room wrapping. Who knows. I also have 3 bags of clothes that my sister gave me while we were there. I won't have to buy her clothes really this year, but of course I will. Then I have to buy something for the hubby of course. I am just so out of it and I have so much to do, washing all the clothes I just brought back, the clothes from the trip, going grocery shopping, still have to bake for Christmas dinner. I will get something done.

Well to everyone I wish you a merry holidays, plenty of warm nights, enough snow to enjoy, and happy memories all around.

Just some random thoughts Ihad on the road

do grapes, grown for wine, are grown close to the hughway/freeway do they taste different than wines made from gapes further away? (because of the emmissions, etc?)

do people from other states think people from that state drive worse then they do or are they just not aware of what they are doing?

do animals have holidays?

Ok so a friend of mine, if you want to call her that but that's another post, has been complaining to me about everything. She hurt her back at work and hasn't been able to work in about 4 months almost. True they are doing some screwy things with her as far as x-rays, bloodwork, etc. but where does she get off saying that they are not doing their job, trying to tell them that they need to do this and do that? She didn't go to medical school, doesn't know what else they may be looking for. True that may make me naive when it comes to the medical profession but I would like to think that they know what they are doing and are doing it in my best interest.

The other things hse does is tell me whatever the topic, that I'm wrong. From what happened to my husband's friends dog to what the DES is doing with her application for food stamps/medical insurance. She doesn't know Chet, his dog, or what happened in the mountains so it's not her place to speak about it. She can tell me whatever she wants and it's just her opinion but the way that she says everything is not coming across right. Why bitch about all of this stuff and then still do it? What is the point?? It doesn no one any good and is really annoying.

I hate to say it but she is working on my last nerves. SHe calls me at least 3 times a day just to bitch about stuff but doesn't listen to anything I say to her about it so why call me? Then there are times when I don't want to talk to her and don't answer the phone so she comes over!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why does it not come thru that I don't want to tal to you right now, just leave a message and I'll call you when I want to talk?? Besides when we are over there most of the time she is talking to someone else on the phone and isn't paying attention to us which is why I won't leave my daughter over there for very long.

So things ae back to normal for me I guess, if you consider that I'm running around all day like a crazy person, i have no real friends that have nothing to do wiht my child and the one person that I spend time without my child talks to me like I'm stupid. True if I really felt that way I wouls say something but it's hard to get a word in edgewise with her. I don't really talk to her but let her do all of the talking, since she doesn't really let anyone else talk.

Stupid bitch!!!! I had a customer tonight who didn't want to put some baby clothes on the belt because they are for a newborn, which is fine lots of people do that because the belt is "dirty". I have no problem with that, it's the way she said that.

"Can you scan these because I don't want you to touch them, they're for a newborn"

Can I reach across the counter and slap the shit out of you? That was just rude. So I scanned them. Then when I told her the total she dropped the money in my hand and took her change like I was dirty or something. But yet she wanted to put them in the bag. That's just rude. If she is so worried about the dirt on my hands did she even stop to think bout all the other people who have touched it? From when it was getting cut it to the people who put the labels on it, to the people who packed it, to the people who unpacked it and then all the other customers who may have touched/sneezed/spit/etc on it. I am the last person she needs to worry about. Besides she needs to wash it anyways.

I had my first pissed off customer tonight. Ok here's the deal. It's Walmart policy to scan the Driver's licence when it asks for ID, mainly for the tobacco stuff. I've been told this several times and I've been told that if I punch in to many it'll re flag me, basically, at home office and I'll get called into the office so I have to swipe the ID's. I know that there are states that don't have the strip thing so I have to punch those in but I'm guessing that somehow the computer shows what state it is and they know why. Well I told this guy, after I scanned his cigarettes, that I needed his ID. He opened his wallet and said I could type it in. I told him that I need to scan it. He said no, type it in like everyone else does. I said that I have to scan it, that's what I was trained to do and that I can lose my job over it. We go back and forth about 10 times with me saying that I have to scan it and him saying no, type it in. Then he says "fine I'll take it out but it's hard to get out" (I want to say then get a new wallet or something) and scan it 3 times like I was told to, and type it in. He tells me that he's going to have a talk with 'J' the store manager about what I did and how I was rude about the whole thing.
He didn't see rude. If I was rude then I would have told him to make his stuff and go to another register, or not to come to my register every again. I wasn't rude. I was nice and polite about the whole thing. I smiled even though I wanted to cry/smack/hit him. No one in the line cares that it;s hard for you to take your ID out. If you have a problem with taking your ID out then you need to go somewhere else to but your smokes.

DVD players in minivans~~
Why do we have them? First we complain that our kids are watching to much TV at home, that they spend all of their time after school watching TV or playing some volient game so what do we doo? We put another tv in a the car!!!!!!!! True it may just be used when we are ging from one afterschool activity to another but still that's more time that they are watchng TV. I remember, and I almost feel old saying this, when I would read my book inthe car, I still look forward to going somewhere in the car so I can read my book. What is wrong with the world??

Why do people do it?

Now that I am working, and you will hear me say that a lot, I hear some of the weirdest things that people say when they think your not listening. Just because I'm ringing up the stuff that your buying doesn't mean that I'm listening to you, so you might want to be careful who and what your talking about, like your sex life. I don't want to hear about someone that you had sex with,where you did it, and how many times, gross!! Yes I've had sex, hence the daughter that I have no, but still I don't need the graphic details of your last sex session.
In that same line of thought feel kinda bad for the guys that come thru my line buying condoms. I wonder are they embarrassed when they come thru my line, is that why they don't make small talk like every other person that does? Or are they just in a hurry and have some hot chick waiting for them at home/hotel/car? lol. I love it. It's just funny.

Working

Now that I'm working I'm going to have a lot of rants about customers. Last night this guy came thru my line with his daughter who was probably about 4 or5 yr. His wife had he older child in another basket. But what got me is that because she wanted something and then started crying because he said no, he threaten to leave her in the store, even when so far as to say that he was going to smack her after he was done with the transaction. Picture me surprised, it's 9:30p at night what do you expect from the kid?? Of course she tired and cranky that late at night. I don;t understand it. It makes me wonder, what do I sound like when I'm talking to my daughter in the store and I tell her she can't have something because she's not listening. I don';t think that I use the tone of voice that he did but the feeling is there.

Just wondering how do you nicely ask family members not to give your kids candy?? They don't live in the state and can only sned cards and maybe a phone call every now and then but what do you say to them? I know they are doing it to be nice and everything but c'om, she's only 2 she doesn't need/want candy.

Does asking my child, numerous times, if she has to "go potty" make her neurotic? Des it undermine her ability to tell me she has to go or I am just being a worry wort about it?

What undermines your child, or for that matter other people, when you ask them the same question over and over again? Does anything?

I find it so funny when I hear commericals that say that. They only have 25 of these cars and because there was such a high demand they are going to extend the sale for another week. If the demand is that high shouldn't the sale be over sooner than they thought?? Doesn't this mean that sure a lot of people are coming out for these cars but their credit, or whatever, isn't good enough to buy them?? I just roll my eyes and laugh knowing that there are plently of other cars/house/whatever to last for everyone.

DHL~ update

Score one for the little guy. I am bulheaded, have been told so by several people, bt this time it paid off. As I said before DHL is notdeliverying m package but theUSPS is. Well I just got off the phone with the orginal company and they are refunding me the money for the DHL service, not because they re not deliverying it but because it's not going to get here for another week. That doesn't make me totally happy but the point is I'm not paying for it anymore. True it's only $4.95 but it's the princepal of the matter that means the most to me, o yeah and the money to. lol

DHL

This is really annoying to me. I love having my computer and being able to see where my packages, when I order things online, but this is taking waaaaaaaaaaay to long to get to me. Let me back up just a little first.

I don't like DHL I prefer UPS mainly because my Melaluca stuff comes thru them and I know the guy. The first time I ordered from DHL was sometime last year and it took an extra week to get my package. First they called me 2 days after the recieved the package at the local office, I know because I looked online, to tell me that the address does not exist!!!!!! WHAT????????? How are you going to call me and tell me that my address doesn not exist, I live at it dummies. Then I got a call from the driver the next day wanting directions to my house. I'm sorry but don't you have GPS in the truck or at the local office?? How is that I can go online and get directions from anywhere to my house but they can't?
Now on the second package that should have been here last Thrus. Fri at the lastest is still not here. When I called on Mon to find out what was going on I was told that it was turned over to the local post office to be delivered. Why was I charged extra, from another company mind you, to have DHL hand it over to the post office. I could have not been charged the extra $8 and have it get here later like it looks like it will be. I don't understand it. They have not heard the last of me.
